From the olden days
You won’t find any luxury items in Museum Het Oude Raadhuis. It exudes an atmosphere of sobriety. It reflects the struggle for existence in the small, draughty fishermen’s houses. You will find everyday household items, but also tools and articles that you could buy in the small shops in those days. The museum also has an art collection with Urk as its subject. Artists mainly visited Urk when it was still an island, in search of authentic life. Where it seemed as if time had stood still.
