Located in the centre of Amsterdam, the Venustempel (temple of Venus) is the world’s first and oldest sex museum. The museum looks at many aspects of sensual love through the ages, displaying an extensive collection of erotic pictures, movies, paintings and artefacts. The vast collection was personally gathered by the museum’s owners and is now on permanent display in their 17th-century property on the Damrak.

The Sex Museum Amsterdam is one of our recurring customers. We have been helping the museum with their displays for more than 10 years.

Lifelike display figures

Josephine Baker’s performance in the revue Un vent de folie in 1927 caused a sensation. Her costume, consisting of only a short skirt of artificial bananas and a beaded necklace, became an iconic image and a symbol both of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties. We produced not only the Josephine Baker figure, but also the cheetah that accompanies her. Fun fact: the cheetah starts moving and roaring when unauthorised people open the emergency door.

Bronze & Brass

For the Venustempel we designed and produced flower shaped real brass toilets and luxury sinks. When washing your hands, a movie will start in the mirror, cheering you up.

Paintings & artwork

We made several decorations, based on the work of Alphonse Mucha (24 July 1860 – 14 July 1939), a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist. From the street you can see a giant decorated window film, for every season an own design, with appropriate coloured led lighting.
